When Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi joined the bank of Bradesco in 2009, the bank was not that good in its performance. Cautious about its performance and ranking, he ruled out the possibility of getting the bank to rank first in the industry. In an interview, Mr. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi had disclosed that he does not view leadership as a goal to him. Rather, his goal is to offer the best services to the people and municipalities that they serve. However, Trabuco made one of the greatest strides for the bank in the year 2015.
With the blessings of the council, Mr. Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi acquired a Brazilian subsidiary of the HSBC for $5.2 billion. The transaction was arguably the best deal in Brazil for the entire year. The acquisition allowed Bradesco to reopen the lead in the private sector. The acquisition enabled the bank to boost its market share, increase investment funds, and increase the total number of the account holders.
With the HSBC, the bank was able to conquer what it would have taken over six years to attain under organic growth. At the time of the purchase, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi received an award as the entrepreneur of the year in the field of finance.
Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi was born in Marilia, the mother city of Bradesco bank. He later joined The University of Sao Paulo where he graduated from the Faculty of Philosophy, science, and letters. His first job into the career was a banker on 1969. He rose through the bank hierarchical ranks all the way to the top. As soon as he was on the top, Luiz Carlos Trabuco Cappi created a corporate management university. He went around seeking for management renewals through talking to executives at all the levels of the bank.
To give autonomy to the reasons for their promotions and appointments, he established some rituals. All the executives present were to make a presentation. He warned that any person touching the microscope had to convey a message, vocalize placements as well as stating the strategy for action. The sign of the rituals and renewals was meant to search for the various market professionals among the executives.
An example of this professional is Renato Ejnisman. He is the executive director overseeing the Bradesco BBI. He has served in various positions and companies thus amassing an extraordinary wealth of information for the firm.
